CUPE needs to have a reality check.
Canada Post is one of the few government agencies that has not been funded by the government, but by its own revenue. However that of course has been shrinking big time, and i think its almost on the edge of running out. But I wouldn’t put it past the government to start funding it, just so they can keep those votes.
We don’t need 5 days a week mail delivery. Tuesday & Thursday is all that is needed. Redirect those other workers to package delivery, and they need to start delivering packages on weekends like everyone else. Those who don’t want that, here’s your pink slip.
Other layoffs will probably be needed as well, as in any failing business that needs to re-structure.
