Is anyone using T-Mobile 'digits' service as a virtual number?

As part of getting rid of Xfinity triple-play, I moved my long-time landline number to T-mobile Digits set up so it is supposed to ring on my cell phone but I feel like it is not getting anywhere near the numbers of calls I used to get on it and have had people tell me that they couldn't reach me. I think I'd like to move it to Google Voice but the verification process they use doesn't work the Digits either, so now what?

lesmikesell Why not switch it back to a T-Mobile pre-paid under the T-Mobile connect service Low cost plans. $10.00 a month for 1000 minutes a month and 1.5 gig of data. THEN you could port it out to Google Voice. I did the port out to GV from my T-Mobile pre-paid and it went flawlessly. I did have to pay a $20 one time port fee to Google but all seems to be working fine now.

DWDM Thanks - did you have to buy a separate phone for that? I was hoping they could move it to a second number on my iphone temporarily with an e-sim instead of the digits app.

Yes I have 3 phones that I move things around. I kept my old iPhone X and had the "burner number" on that. I was at that time, a VZ customer looking to switch to a different carrier so I did a 6 month trial with T-Mobile where I carried both the "burner" and my Verizon device which then led up to my wife and I switching to a Magenta plan on T-mobile once I was thoroughly convinced that the coverage was better.
After that, I ported out the "burner number" to Google Voice because the number resembled something like this: (516) 944-4444.
I do have an iPhone that has a physical SIM and a few e-sims available and could have done it that way but I wanted a separate device for the testing etc.

I have an iPhone 15 PM (eSIM ONLY) carrier unlocked and I have my T-mobile post paid number in it in IMEI slot one and have my landline ported to my IMEI slot 2 using US MOBILE's (MVNO) low data $10 plan for my second number (it does impact the battery running 2 IMEI's at the same time on a iPhone I do not care)

this way the data for the iPhone uses my T-mobile unlimited premium data for both IMEI's (well.....I believe that MMS/SMS pulls from the IMEI slot's 2 GB allocation. this is for me tiny)

Excellent use of the 10 dollar plan. I would have done the same.
