Hopefully not OT but after being blind as a bat my whole life, so much so that I can barely remember when I started wearing glasses I was so young, about 20 years ago I decided to get lasik, and it turned out to be the best medical decision I ever made in my life. While it’s been just a little back and forth, especially when I had some eye virus years ago, it seems that and especially recently that my vision just keeps getting better and better all the time! I’d say that now at 72 it’s about the best it’s ever been since I had the procedure, and while probably unrelated I don’t perceive that I will have any cataract problems anytime soon. I should note, and certainly recommend the same, that I went to probably the best doctor for the procedure in the country (Beverly Hills and all), so that almost certainly made a difference–I did research it before having it done and clearly understood that the quality of care with the procedure can definitely make all the difference, especially if there is an issue during the procedure, so certainly with no backup waiting for you in case of any failure it was more than worth whatever premium there might have been on the price. The doctor I went to is such a leading figure that when Katie Couric on The Today Show did an episode on the procedure they used his office.
BTW, a while back I went to visit my sis and mentioned how I no longer needed glasses. Her answer: “Oh yeah, I didn’t even remember.”🥺🙄
