Stuff 4. Does Comcast/Xfinity have any issues adding things after their hand off/demarc?
I’ve had a Comcast tech remove my TII surge protector ground block and replace it with a standard one once. I suppose it is the demarc and they probably don’t want customers messing with it.
I just replaced it and it hasn’t disappeared again yet. 😉
According to the Installation Note “Cable Requirement: Using the right size cable will ensure proper operation of the product. The center conductor of coax cable used with this product should not be larger than .040 inches (eg.RG59). Suitable adapters must be used that have center pin conforming to .040 inches requirement (eg. RG6, RG11),” but I haven’t had any problem using it with the RG6 cables on both Comcast’s drop or the RG6 on my side.
It is a “gas tube” surge protector, so it’s not as fast as solid state models, but it is more durable and can handle multiple surges.
