Cisco NFVIS - Cisco equivalent to ESXi?

So i’ve ended up with an 8200 uCPE that’s running NFV. It’s an interesting concept. Reminds me of the host/vm relationship of ios-xr, albeit slightly more user friendly. What i find most amusing about it.. I can download the 8000v ios images for it without a service contract–but not NFV itself. I’d think it would be the other way around given the marketing for it.

I’ve tested their virtual WLC in ESXi. I know they offer an OVA for vASA, but never tried.

Palo Alto offers PanOS on a VM as well.

But try running these things under load, and interesting things might just happen as your packets travel past a vSwitch and vNIC.
