Roku will be upgrading their forums this week

Here’s what you can expect:

A cleaner, modern design.
Mobile-first, with intuitive menus and a new page layout (fun fact – 70% of traffic to Community is on mobile!)
Inline replies to make conversations smoother.
A new layout organized by tags instead of nested categories to make searching and browsing easier.
Same helpful community — just smarter and easier to navigate.
Account, billing, and subscription issues aren’t well served in Community, so we’re pushing these conversations back to support site (support.roku.com) where customers can self-serve or get in touch with customer support.
Custom avatars will also be going away, but you’ll be able to choose a new avatar after the upgrade.

System was limited in max 3MB upload, and would not ‘remember me’.

And other things.

Hopefully will improve the system. I actually like our ROKU’s!

The mention of tags and mobile-centric makes me wonder if it could be the same software as here.

And now it is in read-only mode. You cannot even log in.

Forum seems to be back online. Nothing obvious so far. Did have to redo my avatar.

Looking closer, it looks to just be temporary. They now say through 5/20 for the full changes. Some of the forums are missing, and others are only a few new posts.

New forums are active. Yuck.

Only 6 basic categories now, and only 4 are user postable. You can’t bookmark categories and have that direct link to view just what ones you want to follow. (Used to use https://community.roku.com/t5/user/myprofilepage/tab/user-subscriptions:bookmark-subscriptions)

No real avatars. Just a choice of 12 different colored crystal-like pictures.

The date/time of posts is light gray and hard to see.

The Accounts, payments & subscriptions forum just tells you to go to customer support.

Still lots of spam posts.

Gets worse. No obvious difference between read and unread threads. No way to mark all as read.
