Shedeur Sanders was expected to be a 1st round draft pick, but due to numerous red flags, he was only drafted in the 5th round. Dropping a couple of rounds is not unusual, though dropping 4 doesn’t happen very often, but teams are free to pick in any order they like, so this is just a way of life.

However, what unusual is that now a Shedeur Sanders fan is suing the NFL for $100 million over ‘emotional distress’ caused by low draft pick!!! 😲

real_aurgathor oh wow, it took a second glance to process it wasn’t Shedeur Sanders who was suing but a fan. Hah, ridiculous.

But that prank call to Shedeur, I was really angry about that, they did him dirty.

As per some report I read a while ago he quickly recognized that it was probably a prank call, and the NFL handed out enough fines ($350k) to ensure that people in possession of athletes’ phone numbers will likely to be a bit more careful in the future. Of course, pranksters may still be able to get phone numbers from other sources. And future fines are likely to increase more than the inflation adjusted rate.
