Adaptation of the dystopian 1979 horror novel from Stephen King. Originally published under King’s pseudonym Richard Bachman.

The story focuses on a dystopian America that is entertained by the Long Walk — a competition in which 50 teenage boys walk without rest. Each competitor must keep walking faster than three miles per hour, continuously — or risk being eliminated. The last boy remaining earns a prize of his choosing.

I loved The Bachman Books back in the day. Looking forward to this.

I hope it does the book justice (in the book it was 100 boys and four miles an hour cut-off).
Three miles an hour is a bit more realistic, four miles an hour is harder than it sounds! I measured it on my treadmill and I tell ya, I’d be eliminated in a hurry!

Rock_cake I was talking about this with my friends, I always thought 4 mph was basic human walking speed BECAUSE OF THIS STORY! 😃 First time I got on a treadmill and tried 4 mph I thought the treadmill was wrong. Scaling it back to 3 is a good change.

Saw it yesterday. Most of it is very good. I don’t want to spoil anything but overall it’s pretty faithful to the source material except there are some big changes from the book toward the end and it just makes you wonder why they can’t leave the original story intact. Still, it was decent.
