Don’t know why TheRegister felt it necessary to point out the girlfriend’s nationality, the takeaway entirely should have been “unauthorized, unvetted person in a secure area, dubya tee eff?!?!”

The rest reads like “shooting the messenger”-type CYA. 🙄 🙄 /cynical

From the article, and from many reports of that country’s diligent and aggressive efforts to acquire all sorts of data, I’d say it is very relevant.

As well we don’t know if the description applies only to her ethnic heritage, or to her current activities and/or current citizenship.

HELLFIRE no idea what this story is about since I didn’t click on the link but every fortune 500 data center I’ve entered requires badge-entry and the like for a reason, if I smuggled someone into a server room I’d be kicked to the curb.

I read over the complaint, searching for “China” or “Chinese.” So her nationality was specifically listed in the complaint.

Maybe this is just my innate cynicism, but sounds alittle too much like “sexing up” things.

It’s just interesting how throughout the whole article nothing was mentioned about the fate of the original perpetrator of this whole fiasco. I guess we can naively assume he was deservedly termed then? Considering how hard Deutsche is trying to sweep this under the rug they may not want to create yet another disgruntled whistleblower.
