As you know, most of Connecticut was originally SNET (Southern New England Telephone) which was never a fully-owned Bell System company but rather an affiliate.
The small exception was that Verizon (starting as its predecessor New York Telephone then NYNEX) had a small piece of Connecticut (the part of Greenwich west of the Mianus River), this continues today.
Then SNET was bought by AT&T.
And LATER, AT&T sold the former SNET to Frontier…
And NOW, Frontier becomes Verizon, so Verizon finally gets all of Connecticut.
Connecticut has been traded back and forth more often than a mediocre baseball player. 🙁
And nothing matches the old glory days of SNET.
