Poor Connecticut.
#They had their own Bell System affiliate company (SNET) for many decades, it was very innovative and was not fully a Bell subsidiary.
#Then SNET was bought out by SBC in 1998---SBC eventually became the reborn AT&T.
#But in 2014, AT&T sold the Connecticut operations to Frontier. AT&T did not have any other landline properties near Connecticut, so that sale sort of made sense.
#And now Frontier is gobbled by Verizon. We'll see how it works out.
Before this, Verizon served only a small part of Connecticut---the Greenwich and Byram exchanges near the NY State line.
Verizon inherited THOSE areas from New York Telephone (which became Nynex and finally Verizon). NY Telephone had served those border areas for decades.
