Anyone willing to put themselves through that hell to help someone they don’t even know, while expecting nothing in return, deserves to be remembered and celebrated as long as the beneficiaries of said assistance continue to exist.
Still, I view it as a very positive thing that those in the Netherlands are still acknowledging that assistance, and not acting like entitled slobs, or using the excuse that it was so long ago, that they have already celebrated them often enough.
