New Brother printer prints fine, but The Scan Operation has a 1 to 1.5 minute delay on displaying the scan to computer display.
Seeing this on 1 of 3 W7-64 systems, our 1 W10 PRO system. AND 2X iPhones (14+ & 15), And 1 older iPad!
Surprisingly 2x W7-64 systems work fine!
This “Delay” is occurring on Brother’s own print & Scan App’s (W7, W10, or IOS versions)!
Brother Support swears it’s Windows firewall, but never heard of some working and others not! Brother support confirmed with me it is NOT Windows Firewall, but they didn’t know what to do next. !!
I eventually determined the issue & fix:
My LAN is IPv4. I set up printer as STATIC IPv4 IP. Brother Printer, set up as DHCP or Static IPv4, leaves IPv6 printer setting ON!
If: LAN is IPv4, AND IPv6 on printer is: ON, AND computer network card is IPV6 compatible, THEN the 1 to 1.5 minute delay on scan display is evident!
If same, but Network card DOES NOT SUPPORT IPv6, then scan Display is IMMEDIATE!
Explains why older W7-64 systems worked, and newer ones didn’t!!
FIX: If LAN is IPv4: TURN OFF IPv6 IN BROTHER PRINTER SETTINGS!!
This fixes the delay from scan to display, on ALL systems: Windows 7, 10, or IOS!!!😁
As of a couple days ago, Brother Support did not know this. They do now!!
