Windows 7 Pro Monitor Shut Down

I have been having an issue with my Windows 7 computer that I have not been able to solve. I set my Monitor to “Sleep” after 10 minutes and for some reason it will change back to 5 minutes all by itself.

I leave my computer on 24 - 7 and rarely reboot it but it will reset the “Sleep” mode at a random time and I haven’t been able to find out why or when…

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!!

Have you Googled it? The general conclusion is that something third party on your machine doing power management is changing the setting to its preference. I think you will have to look around your machine for it.

Yes I saved the changes but something is still changing it back.

The only software that I have on my machine that I am aware of that might change it back is “Windows Tweaker ver 5.3.1” and I have checked its settings and didn’t find anything. I may have missed something but I don’t think so…

I don’t have any apps. or other things that I am aware of that could be causing this to happen but there must be something.

How would you word a “Google Search” because I am pulling a blank!!!

I used to keep my system on 24/7 but now I just turn it on first thing in the morning and shut it off last thing in the evening before going to bed. I never do and never have used any sleep modes because they have always caused me problems and just use a screen saver that comes on after five minutes. See here and Screensavers Planet™.

It’s not just happening… something is actively doing power management on your machine.

Now my issue seems to have self corrected because the setting is on 10 minutes and I have been gone for over 3 hours. Also I think it stayed set over night because when I moved my mouse to wake the monitor up this morning and checked the setting it was still set on 10 minutes and seems to be working fine!!!

We will see what happens and I will post back in a few hours and let everyone know what the situation is.

I still have no idea what fixed this issue or caused it!!!

Yes, I understood your first post… sorry I did not use the right word… different wording will get you different but similar search results. It remains a power management issue others have noted on the Internet. I suspect you’ll see it again… computers are very regular.
