AI seems to have taken over the world, quickly, thoroughly, and without a fight.
It seems to come up ABOVE Google Search results now, being labelled as AI Overview.
The results are often either hilarious or disturbing.
People are used to trusting Google results, so might tend not to notice the error-filled Google AI Overview.
The other day, I asked Google to search for other doctors in my specialty, in my community.
It came up with a real doctor name, but at a non-existent street address even though in the right town, and the indicated doctor name in real life is in a different specialty and in a different part of the country.
In doing many Google searches the AI Overview is not good at all, or is incomplete in many ways. but people just trust it because [up until now] Google could be generally trusted.
