Rubbish. With *billions* of doses administered worldwide, COVID vaccines are very well known entities, and some additional placebo testing is highly unlikely to do much of anything aside from increasing the ‘time-to-market’ time; hence possibly decreasing the vaccines overall effectiveness due to the quickly moving target.
The issue isn’t just COVID (which for most people is just a rough equivalent of the flu because of some pre-existing immunity), but the possible long term effects on the lungs, brain, heart, and the circulatory system that can be much worse than COVID itself.

As an FYI. people can, and were getting on *disability* due to long COVID, and even a single month of disability is likely to cost much more than the cost of a dose of a COVID vaccine.
