As the article indicates, the V.A. itself made many mistakes which screwed some veterans, and this program was part of an effort to help the vets out and fix the problem.

Based on the article, the program was terminated without having a replacement plan in place. It would seem that having a replacement ready to implement in an immediate switch would serve our veterans better than leaving them open to foreclosures and loss of homes while the ‘experts’ dithered over how to proceed.

I never used the VA for a mortgage but I did use the GI Bill for college tuition. Which surprisingly allowed me to get a good job so I didn’t need a VA mortgage. Amazing how these things work.

I’ve actually never used the VA for anything, even health care. I always felt if I could afford it, use the VA for those that can’t.
