Most of those who feel the need to limit data collection by vehicle equipment are also those who are security conscious with regard to their devices and computers.
The article is informative and well written, and provides information that people can use to mitigate the collection of data.
I see no reason to dissuade the public from being aware of or concerned by increasing data collection and potential for fraud and abuse by private or public sector actors.
This quote from the article is my own takeaway after reading it, and should apply to all forms of devices and features, not just vehicles;
“If they’re carrying out surveillance on the public, the public should know. They should have meaningful knowledge and give meaningful consent before any kind of surveillance is activated, which clearly is not the case.”
