There has been similar coverage recently regarding Musk’s xAI, with its many large gas turbines, used to generate the massive amounts of electricity needed by the Memphis, TN, facility. The controversy stems from the fact that they didn’t apply for permits, nor wait for them to be granted, before installing them. Furthermore, no pollution mitigation systems have been installed, leaving residents in surrounding communities complaining about the smog, particularly those with respiratory conditions such as asthma and COPD, as well as suspicions that some other area pollutants lead to cancer.
