I was level 50 when I finished act 2, and around level 55 when I beat the final mission. After which the game sends you back to the game just before the final event, with an option to start NewGame+ appearing at rest flags. But you’re also free to do the rest of the content on the map, and there’s a lot of it, about 40% more. I am now level 92 and close to 100%. I am trying to beat the “real” final (optional) boss of the game, Simon. That asshole is worse than Malenia. I think I broke the parry button on my xbox controller.
That is, I’m trying to beat him “fairly” without using cheese. Once the damage cap of 9999 is lifted at the end of act 2, you can end up with ridiculous game-breaking builds. My Maelle procs to 45 million+ damage with Stendhal, enough to one shot even Simon in his 2nd stage lmao
Much like Elden Ring the game is terrible at telling you which areas are level appropriate. In Act 3 most places are 75+ rated. I was getting my ass kicked after easily walking through the final mission and didn’t understand why. You really need to upgrade those weapons passed level 20 ASAP. The perfect chroma catalysts required to go from level 32 weapons -> (max) level 33 weapons are rare, so you can fully upgrade only a handful of weapons. The damage boost from 32 -> 33 is immense.
In the end I got about 65h of playtime, but unlike Black Myth Wukong I don’t feel motivated to try NG+ right now.
