Accessing device with lost pass-code

I have an older Samsung Tab A tablet that was misplaced and I haven’t used it in the last few years,

I just found it, but now I’m unable to log-in. 🙁

Is there any way to access it without doing a master reset and erasing the tablet? It has some videos and a few programs that I really don’t want to erase.

You should be able to grab the videos by mounting the table on your PC and copying the stuff over, if you installed your programs via a Google Play account you still have access to, they should reinstall without much hassle. If you don’t have access to said Google Play account, you can backup the APKs but you’d have to look it up, as I am unfamiliar the exact process.

But, I assume with most Android devices, you have to go into that drop-down screen to enable file transfers. That may not be accessible without being logged in.

Thanks for all who replied. After about an hour or so, I was able to guess my own password.

Still a good idea to copy what you want off of it, if you haven’t done so already.
