I feel like a lot of those departures are because people are moving to Cable Company MVNOs and other similar MVNOs that operate on Verizon. I know of more than a few people who have switched to Spectrum Mobile, an MVNO of Verizon, because post-paid prices are too high for them. I mean, even my own Verizon bill is around $86/m for a single line, and that is the lowest minimum plan needed to get 5G UW, which is basically a necessity in my area due to congestion.
I wonder what Verizon’s wholesale numbers look like, though.
On another note, they seem to be returning to doing Fios builds, so it’s possible Wireless is saturated for them, and they need to return to getting rid of tech debt on the wireline side of the house. Their purchase of Frontier is probably going to help accelerate that, given how much Fiber Frontier has actually deployed in a number of markets in recent years. Not to mention, just how AHEAD Frontier is in terms of Fiber to the Home speed offerings.
