Sarah Michelle Gellar and Elijah Wood are set to star in Searchlight Pictures’ Ready or Not sequel, Ready or Not: Here I Come, joining series star Samara Weaving. The movie, which has begun production in Toronto, has rounded out its cast with Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell and Kevin Durand (Abigail), as well as acclaimed horror filmmaker David Cronenberg. Radio Silence’s Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are back for Ready or Not: Here I Come, as are writers Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy. Ready or Not starred Weaving as a bride who learns of her new family’s wedding night ritual where a murderous game is played, all to appease an ancient family deal with the devil. The film was a success critically and commercially, grossing $28 million at the domestic box office on a $6 million budget. Plot details for the follow-up are being kept under wraps. …

Yeah, had it’s rough spots, but between the black humor, Samara Weaving in a bridal gown selling the role like water in a drought, and some other recognizeable names, I enjoyed this one 😃 😃

I really enjoyed the original, it was a ton of fun and had a perfect ending. I don’t really see the need for a sequel but what the heck.

BTW, the first movie reminded me a little of the movie Azrael

…I was out by a week when this came out. The good stuff :

great to see Samara Weaving again as Grace, and that adrenaline-fueled rage face she makes dealing with this bulls**t.
tighter story telling compared to the first movie.
I don’t think sniper rifle and propane tank or rocket launcher is legal according to the game’s rules… but I’ll take it XD XD
David Cronenburg and Elijah Wood’s performances
Sarah Michelle Gellar reveling in her “I’m evil, I got the best genes of the family, and I know it!” side.
the ex-girlfriend of Grace’s late husband… and the cold-blooded means of her end. OUCH!
the gruesome end in the industrial washing machine
the giant digitus impudicus ending, and people either “NOPE-ing” out or piling in XD XD

The annoying stuff :

excessive use of the f-word. I’ve no problems with foul language in dialogue, but foul language without purpose kinda annoys me
SOMEthing missing with Shawn Hatosy’s character – I get it, he’s supposedly the dim and slow-witted one, then suddenly jumps to this unchained psychopath in less than 2 hours?
thinly developed, one note characters given lines and told to “do something interesting.”
dual wield pistols will likely hurt your wrists… rapid fire dual wield pistols? Not that I was entirely complaining.
