A couple of websites I check during hurricane season are https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ and https://weather.gc.ca/hurricane/track_e.html The Canadian site gives generally the same info but is more targeted to effects on eastern Canada. Mind you, the remnants of Hurricane Hazel https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_Hazel did a number on Toronto in mid-October 1954. Note that the Canadian site uses Atlantic Time, which is one hour ahead of Eastern Time used by the US site.

I love this new forum, but I have no clue how we can discuss the new administration for the next four years when it will affect so many aspects of our lives. Does this forum software not allow for member-only discussions / readability?

Suggestion for forum groupings...

Putting all your files in the top-level directory results in a confusing mess. Similarly, the boadbandbulletin.com landing page has everything jumbled together. Is it possible to set up forum groupings, like on DSLR? First draft...

Yes, like GoNetSpeed, there needs to be a general FIber ISP forum, and a Fiber Tech Forum. Very useful information was in them.

I might move over to GoNetSpeed in the next year or two. They have a better CSR experience than Frontier.

Only reason I have Frontier is that they gave me a better deal than GoNetSpeed. Frontier is pretty reliable, but the one time it went out the support people knew nothing. Fortunately, the line techs still know what they're doing.

One reason I want to see a fiber provider general forum is to find out if any of the ISPs not separately listed use BPON or what?

My understanding is that gonetspeed is using BPON, not XGS-PON, but I wonder when they will upgrade that? To be competitive, they will need to at some point.

Hence the needs for a Fiber ISP forum for those not listed otherwise.

@SLC_96 How about a Sports Forum (Tag).? There are two threads in the Open Forum that could go there. One is titled Sports and the other NASCAR. Thanks.

I am not sure if it would be possible, but how about a sub forum in Automotive for Electric Vehicles? It became very tiresome to read the constant battles between the ones who believe in them being good, and those that don't care one way or another (me).

Adding a Fiber Tech forum might be too limited, though it had a great following over there. A Lineworker's forum for Fiber, Telco, CableCo, and backbone techs would be a very useful idea for a broadband site.
