SuperNet That is by DOCSIS/modem. It is currently available in some N+0 markets. It will be more generally available when Comcast starts ramping up the deployment of FDX amplifiers (not long).

Areas that are already mid-split (N+X) will probably have to wait a bit longer.

Do you have to be hard wired to the modem to get speeds like that? My wifi isn't half that and I know I'm on 2 GBPS plan.

OmegaWolf747 Yes. WiFi 7 might get closer but most WiFi won’t get 1 gbps let alone 2.

Gigabit Ethernet will get up to 940mbps. To get higher you need 2.5gbps Ethernet or better.

If you don't why are you paying for higher speeds than your device can get?

lesmikesell Because I'm not sure how to wire the cable safely from the modem to my PC. They're in two different rooms, a few yards apart. The modem only works when plugged into this one outlet in the living room. There's another one closer to my room, but it's a dud. I can't just run the cable along the floor, as it might be a tripping hazard.

OmegaWolf747 If you are OK with the speed you get over wifi, cut back your internet tier to something cheaper. Otherwise a wifi7 access point and PC adapter might work. Also, your coax cables probably route through the attic, basement, or a utility room where a splitter has been disconnected to your dead branch - see if you have any way to trace them back and use a barrel connector to hook up the branch you want. You can also get flat ethernet cables that might work if you can go under a rug or along a baseboard.

I can get just over 800mbps on WiFi 6 80 MHz wide 5 GHz to an iPhone 16 pro max.

The AP is a Ubiquiti U6 pro, but to get these speeds I have to be standing just about right under it.

I just tested again from my sofa and it was actually better, about 16 ft line of site from the ceiling mounted AP. I really think it’s the phone. I had a 13 pro max I traded in and I’d typically get 600-740.

Take the ISP out of the equation… I’m honestly pleasantly surprised how much better the iPhone 16 is compared to the 13 I got rid of, wow.
