I finished the second season of Fallout.
I really wasn’t that into it. The Fallout games aren’t really built on story telling and characterization, so it kind of makes sense that it doesn’t work that well as a show.
I just found myself not really caring what was happening. They run about 4-5 parallel storylines. The main character and the ghoul’s plot was the only one that held interest. I found I didn’t care about the brother at all. And especially didn’t care about the characters left in the vault. The Brotherhood of Steel storyline was mildly interesting, but it was more about setting up next season.
So all the show really feels like is a bunch of encounters that don’t feel important that reference things in the game. They go in one building and there’s a radscorpion. They go somewhere else and there are radroaches. None of these encounters feel like they offer any narrative weight. It’s just something that happens and they move on.
