JanJ I’m not aware of that being beyond what the standard allows, but PoE equipment varies. For such a run, you will want to make sure you have a good quality PoE-enabled switch or dedicated power injector. If it’s marginal, some switches have a “long-range” mode that limits link speed to 10Mbps in exchange for greater reach. You will have to check your specific camera, but many 4K models don’t actually need much more than that for a single video stream.
Just as an example of cheap hardware being useless, I tried a lower-end PoE switch on a camera connected by less than 5 metres of cable from end to end. The cheap switch couldn’t keep it powered, even with infrared LEDs and spot light off, as well as the camera in stationary mode. In other words, it was just junk. With a dedicated power injector, I haven’t had a single hiccup, even with tracking, spot light and infrared LEDs enabled (not all are active simultaneously).
