Oh, no. Aside from having to jump through hoops to put the gateway into Passthru mode so I could use my own router. Instructions are online. And of course, the very nice installer wouldn’t help me with it. I understood. The only problems I had were on my end. I had the 2 Gig package and found that 5 Gigs would’ve been overkill for my set up. Any problems I had were shortly after solved by me. The service itself was awesome. It gave me 2/2 immediately. And the first night when my gear wasn’t hooked up properly still gave me 1900 out of 2500. I was in heaven. Doing download/uploads, TV and gaming all at once. Saw 1-5 ping with a highest of 30 at points. There was no adjustment period. You had 2 Gig Fiber, that is what you got. Just make sure whatever speed you have, your gear can handle it. And the server you’re downloading from/uploading to.
Come 9/11/24, a Cat 2 hurricane came by and ripped the roof off my home and the one next door. Power went out for 2 days and unknown to me at the time, the storm ripped my fiber wiring to where it was hanging by a thread, but didn’t notice it until March of 25. It didn’t go down and the speed was still fine. Something to also look for if you encounter a lot of wind and rain. Something to also note is AT&T Fiber stayed online throughout power outages if you have a UPS or generator at home to power it. My UPS units give me anywhere from 15 minutes to 4 hours depending on load.
If not for the hurricane, I could’ve probably used my internet during the whole 2 days, but after the power went out, I thought I should just turn everything off. It was bad. 2 hours of power for internet wouldn’t have made a difference.
Hell of a story you have as well. I hope you enjoy your competition and try them all if you have multiple available to you. I remember at one point I was told I’d have a choice of both Charter and Comcast. Didn’t happen and Comcast was it 20+ years in.
