HooRU Deny all you want till yer blue in the face.
I am not denying anything you just donât seem to understand what is happening.
China has been getting away with placing Tariffâs on products made in America to be sold in China the end result being American companies are priced (tariff-ed) out of selling their products in China, at the same time China is selling made in China products at prices below the cost of manufacturing the product, a practice known as dumping.
The end goal is to drive American companies out of business.
As a result of that the tables where turned by placing a 51% tariff on products made in China to be sold in America, that forced China to return to the bargaining table and lower their tariffâs and cease dumping.
And it worked, while the tariffâs where in place shipments of China made products to the US ceased, as a result shipping containers of products where backing up in Chinaâs ports and workers in China where not getting paid resulting in large scale protests happening.
As for guitarists, yes some products will rise in price but that increase is nothing compared to what would have happened had Chinaâs dumping succeeded as planned.
Had they succeeded the increase would have been well over 100% versus the current 25%. to 30% increase, Iâm not the brightest person around but I will gladly take a 30% increase over a 130% increase any day.
Personally I would prefer to buy American made products, however some âAmericanâ companies like Milwaukee Tools are obtaining the core of their products from China then completing the final assembly (model number label) and packaging in America allowing them to claim the product is made in America when in fact it is a low grade product made in China.,
At one time Milwaukee made some of the best power tools one could find, nowadays they are junk.
