My introduction to the Mac was my first proper full time job as a typesetter (plus a bit of network and mac management) back in 1992. A couple of years later I started working for a mac software development company as tech support / tester, was there for quite some time (68k to powerpc, then intel), then switched to another company in QA role for iOS, and I'm still doing that today
I think I probably got my own imac around 2008, though it was an ex-company machine, so my proper first mac was an iMac in 2011. replaced that in 2015 with another one, and only just replaced that with my first personal mac laptop in october. The iMac was fine, but would not run newer os versions, though you can apparently use OCLP to get it updated past Big Sur, but I only found that out after it had left my possession.
