Not begrudge anyone specifically but I would like to raise a point of order.

What does it say about the appearance of bias if the majority of the moderators are from one side of the partisan spectrum? This can be backed up independently.

What does this mean? Do you mean politically? If they agree with me, I am fine with it 😃 I am and have been a moderator on several other platforms and when you wear your moderator hat you do have to remind yourself that you need to be “neutral”. The problem is, perception: if you get moderated you do not feel the moderator was being neutral. I am sure @takeahike was chosen because they have demonstrated a level headedness on here and DSLR.

It may reflect the overall makeup of THIS forum.

By contrast, many former DSLR people are at Ho-Lee-Fooks which has a very different makeup…

You have to admit there’s a lot less red meat and a lot more kale and arugula being served up here at Chez BBF compared to the DSLR Diner.

Well….

1) As said many may prefer Ho-Lee-Fooks or other environments.

2) Since January 20 there has been a lot MORE to comment on regarding so many issues. It is natural for people to express themselves.

Probably neither you nor I would be comfortable as moderators, but if Jeff wanted to do that it would be fine.

This is not fit for a welcome topic, if you need to discuss moderation in a general sense you can do so in the suggestion thread, or start a mod suggestion topic. Moderation decisions are as always not up for discussion.
