In the forum I moderate, members who publicly complain about the moderators, or their lack of (in)action on a topic, have their posts removed. We then take them back to the woodshed for some âeducationâ on why they shouldnât have done that. In phpBB, thatâs a Board Warning or a (temporary) ban.
Why? Because leaving them visible removes your ability to control the discussion. Members see that you donât do anything about the complaints and youâve lost the battle. You also lose the membersâ respect.
takeahike - If you want some âlive trainingâ, feel free to remove posts which cross the threshold. By all means, discuss what to do in the private moderatorsâ forum. If you have a consensus on what action to take, do so. (Assuming you have a private forum.) No worries, youâll eventually get the hang of it.
