Bulk CNAM lookups from Twilio via Bulk Phone Lookup: safe?

I’d like to do bulk CNAM lookups by uploading a CSV (or similar) file of DIDs to a website, perhaps 100 DIDs at a time.

This company https://bulkphonelookup.com/faq.php appears to do what I want. They charge a flat $5 per month to serve as a bulk interface to the lookup API on my Twilio account. Twitter would charge me about 1¢ per lookup.

I’d have to give Bulk Phone Lookup my Twilio account ID and auth token. Even if BPL turns out to be dishonest or careless, I think that the only risk is that my Twilio account balance would go to zero, which would be no big deal. (I don’t have automatic replenishment enabled at Twilio.)

Do you know anything about Bulk Phone Lookup?

Should I hesitate to give Bulk Phone Lookup my Twilio account ID and auth token?

One good thing is that you pay monthly and there is [no] auto-renewal.

The company’s phone number 91-9810157957 indicates that they are based in India.

The website has some glitchy phrasing, so I assumed that they’re abroad.

Bulkvs charges $0.002 per cnam query, but you would need to use your own script to process your csv.

I’m the OP.

I signed up, and they processed my payment.

Whenever I submit a CSV containing DIDs for processing, the page hangs indefinitely. No error message appears. I reported this twice via the site’s bug form: no reply. So the service seems nonfunctional now and perhaps permanently. Oh well.

You’re probably right, but being that you paid the 5 dollars for the month, why not try again in a day or two….

ALSO remember that they are in India, and India leads the world in cutting off the Internet during times of crisis—and they are having a big crisis right now due to Kashmir attacks, the biggest crisis in years.

So it MIGHT be that those guys are down because of that.

I know you have already done it, but I would absolutely not trust providing first party credentials to an offshore and relatively unknown third party service - especially in the telecom space. Since Twilio doesn’t offer batch lookups, at best processing 100+ numbers sequentially from an India location would likely be excruciatingly slow. Not to mention potential throttling by Twilio.

If at all possible, look into minimal scripting to do what you want directly with your existing provider Twilio.
