Guy54435 as someone who’s had chickens, whose elderly family members in other countries still have chickens plopping down random eggs, I have such a hard time fathoming this crazy egg shortage. I get how it might be an issue in a dense place like LA but closer to me in Western New York, I have friends outside of Buffalo in areas like Hamburg and Chautauqua/Allegheny areas who own chickens and have coops and all that, and they set up roadside stands “free eggs, take what you want” while giving extras to neighbours and coworkers.
Eggs went up here in Canada too but I don’t think it’s because of the US issues, it’s just the usual inflation. When we can’t get free eggs from friends we try to get the free range eggs but they went up from $5 to $8 over the past couple years.
