So I got another piece of junk mail from AT&T asking me to switch to their wireless phone. I called the number on the offer and told the person who answered to get me off their mailing list.
I got routed around a couple times, and finally ended up at the “Internet Loyalty Team”, I guess because my phone number was linked to my internet service account. The guy says he can put in request to stop the snail mail offers. But then he notices that I have AT&T fiber internet, and says he is going to see I am eligible for any loyalty rewards. He comes back and says he’s going to send me a $100 gift card for being a loyal customer for years. I ask “what’s the catch, am I being upselled on something?” He says, no, no catch. A couple hours later I get an email to register the gift card. Never encountered that before.
