HELLFIRE Well, Mr. Sherman, let’s do a little test. If the content in question “doesn’t have economic value” for your company, you may not use it. Throw out your trained model, and start over, without using any data you don’t have explicit permission to use (and no, “permission” buried in your tome of legalese between your company and users is not permission; you have to explicitly ask them and get them to grant informed permission for that specific use). When your model ends up being useless without said data, you will agree that it has economic value, and will begrudgingly do your best to pay for that content and obtain appropriate permission.
Since I’m so reasonable, I’ll offer you another choice: since FarceBork, etc. “doesn’t have economic value” for your users, they are henceforth allowed to use it without paying, while you are non-negotiably forbidden from tracking or profiling them in any way, serving ads or using their content for your purposes.
