Comcast NBCUniversal today announced its intent to pursue the first-ever Universal entertainment resort complex in the United Kingdom and in Europe.

The project is to be designed and delivered by the company’s Universal Destinations & Experiences segment. The proposed plans, which are subject to planning approval, include a world-class theme park with several themed lands featuring Universal’s distinct style of immersive and thrilling rides, innovative attractions and exciting entertainment.

The resort will also feature a 500-room hotel and a retail, dining and entertainment complex. The park will be just south of Bedford, 35 minutes north of London by train, and will join the company’s existing portfolio of theme parks and resorts across the United States and Asia-Pacific. …

My few ideas so far for Cable Land Exhibits-

Pricing Roller coaster - ride a life sized roller coaster built off a history of internet and cable pricing. Many steep ups and downs on this baby. A few loops too.
Let’s make deal - see if you can win a negotiation with a retention specialist. You will be given a package with the rack rate and price to try to stay under to win the negotiation. Spectators can wager on this of course.
Support Customer of the month - Compete against 4 others for the title. How many things can you name to check on your own before actually contacting support? High score wins.

I would have thought Disney would have been first to take the lead in the UK on such an adventure. I guess they are too busy trying to resuscitate their damaged brand.

The Hall of Call Centers. A large dome that awes everyone. A spectacle that would make John Wayne choke a tad.

Enjoy watching your kids as they try to get to through the daily hell you need to do on a day-to-day basis to talk to a human.

And then realize it is futile.

Honestly being from there and talking to my friends and family over there I feel it will be a big flop. In France they have Disney Europe but since England left the EU things have gotten harder, and the majority don’t have that kind of money to spend and if they do they leave the weather behind and go to Spain etc. which is cheap if you are young and if your older there are plenty of other places on the med to go to with good weather. Some areas the local equivalent of the state Government are turning off streetlights as they can’t afford to pay the bill. In MN here we have no streetlights as they steal the copper as soon as it gets replaced.
