telcodad I miss sears parts, up here the ordering process was easy but you had to drive out to the back of a warehouse in the middle of nowhere and ring the bell. They had parts for nearly everything but each one was given a Sears part number rather than the manufactures. In any case if you knew what you wanted they offered better prices than the parts place though the item might take a couple of weeks to arrive at the warehouse if it was not a stock one.
Shame the company folded up.
I have a hotpoint fridge, its either late 40s or early 50’s, it’s not new and shiny looking and the evaporator box is steel rather than aluminum but it still works well and uses less power than a similar sized fridge because its insulated and lacks the anti frost heating strips and defroster heater that today’s frost free products use.
