Shoeless Joe Jacksonackson was an MLB outfielder
The nickname “Shoeless Joe” Jackson originated when he played a game in Greenville, S.C., with blisters on his feet from a new pair of spikes. To alleviate the pain, he took off his shoes and played in his socks, which led an opposing fan to shout, “You shoeless bastard, you!” This incident caused the nickname to stick with him throughout his career.
He was an MLB outfielder from 1908-20, but was most known for his time with the White Sox. He won the 1917 World Series with Chicago
