I have 6x identical UPS’s: 5 in operation, 1 spare… Spare until today had been last repaired unit…
On each UPS I’ve added the ‘Service UPS Now’ LED warning device.
On the Last battery replacement (Warned by the attached SUN device above) a couple months ago…
After replacing batteries and testing, I examined all UPS’s and determined that not all 6 had date labels on them, (when batteries were last changed) One was ‘Unknown’. I also have one Location that does not have mission critical devices on it… That has TV, Cable box, Roku, etc.
SO… Put the ‘Unknown’ dated UPS on least critical location, (Repaired 2 months ago) and Repaired UPS to the oldest critical location, and moved that UPS to next oldest location. and repaired 2 Months ago UPS is now the Spare… By doing this, I should always have oldest Batteries on the least critical location, and most critical with freshest batteries.. and Spare recently repaired, ready for service in Any Location!
Basically I’m un-doing, the random repairs of the past years… with a new plan of attack!
This time was fairly confusing, what to move where….. Next time it should become much easier!
