Are GNC stores spying on U.S. military bases.?

In June 2020, vitamin retailer GNC filed for bankruptcy and was wholly acquired by Harbin Pharmaceuticals, a partially state-owned enterprise in China. Some 85 GNC stores operate on U.S. military bases. under what are known as “long term concessions” contracts. Now, Rep. Pat Harrigan, R-N.C., has released a bill, the “Military Installation Retail Security Act of 2025,” that would ban any companies of Chinese, North Korean, Iranian or Russian ownership from operating on military bases.:

I didn’t realize GNC went under in 2020 and now another company is using its name. That helps to explain why I’ve seen a lot more suspect supplements on late night TV type ads using their name over the last few years.

I stopped going to GNC years ago. Every time I went in there and asked for something, they’d try and sell me 10 things I didn’t want and didn’t have what I asked for.

I know this has nothing to do with the story but I had to vent. 😃
