Donoreo You know it’s funny, I had a conversation with someone a few months ago along the lines of this topic, like, “you notice how nobody says you’re welcome anymore? Does it matter though? The thanks is the thing you need to communicate more than the ’you’re welcome’.”
I lol’d at that weird-voiced TikTok clip, I agree with the sugar thing too, I have no idea why so many things that shouldn’t have sugar in North America… have sugar. Bread!? wtf!?
That chick in the second video is fucked, for lack of a better word. I feel like this is some entitled upper class northern white chick issue because if you talk to southern folks of any colour, you’re going to get a you’re welcome but especially with black Americans.
I’d be curious to see if there’s statistics on this with demographics, i feel the “no-welcome” group skews university educated women who have too much idle time to overthink something simple. “Kids today” have more idle time than any other generation before them, many of us were too busy working or raising our kids to worry about what “you’re welcome” might mean to overly sensitive people.
