After a long 7 months, Brightspeed has finallty pulled fiber by my house but this section of fiber may not be active because it does not show up when I input my address into BS’s website nor has a salesman stopped by my house to let me know it is now available. Man they are slow. Way before BS pulled fiber by my house BS pulled fiber on the north of town to the next little village, which is approximately 3 miles down the road. Fiber is still hanging on power poles coiled up just waiting to be completed. Again, man are they sloooowwwww. But I have read that BS is understaffed and trying to do too much all at once.
Spectrum is overbuilding fiber in my area and utilities have been marked and the crew is just down the road. Spectrum has already ran fiber down the same road that I told you about above to that little village 3 miles away and according to Spectrum’s website, people can now order. I’ve seen Spectrum crews all over the place around here and it is impressive at the speed they are laying fiber. Just think, more than likely I will be able to order from Spectrum long before I could order from BS.
From all the negative comments I’ve read about BS’s customer service, I’m not too inclined to sign up with them. Customer server makes or breaks a company even if the product is fairly good. I’ve read that Spectrum has U.S. based customer service and that could be a positive asset of Spectrum.
Eventually I will have 3 options for a broadband connection. I’m currently on cable with Optimum and their CS is nothing to write home about. From what I have seen, BS has lower prices than Spectrum for same services but Spectrum has CS reps that speak and understand english.
So, in the next several months I will have to decide which fiber provider I would like to switch to as I would like to try out fiber. I live in rural NC and I would have never thought in my wildest dreams that fiber would have been available here and on top of that, 2 fiber providers.
Lower prices or customer service that can fluently understand english???
