Amazon Prime Video users

I was an Amazon Prime member and I enjoyed the benefit of Prime Video but my subscription was about to run out at the end of last year and I decided not to renew due to Prime stating that they would be adding more adverts.

Since the start of 2025 have any of you noticed more adverts, and if so, how much worse has it gotten?

I was thinking about joining back up for the Prime Video benefit as they had the content that I liked to watch.

I feel it’s less than OTA TV. Which is tolerable. Though I still think it’s bullshit to charge and show ads. It should be free with ads or ad free for pay options.

Prime does have an ad-free option. It’s an extra $2.99/month. You need it if you want higher-end audio (Atmos and similar.)

I, too, think it is b.s. that they are inserting commercials now. But, to their credit, at least they give you a timer when they start so you know how long you have to go to the kitchen or bathroom.

I have not noticed an increase in ads in 2025.
