CommunityMember and more like 4% of the population is unbanked (so they would not have either a credit card or a debit card)

Seems like a difficult way to get through life in 2025. I’m not sure why, since opening a bank account is usually free and they don’t charge a fee to use a debit card.

I can’t even remember the last time I paid for something with cash. I only use it for tipping sometimes.

Things like not having a Social Security number or being caught laundering money might pose problems.

In addition, financial services providers have to follow KYC regulations. Criminals and/or those wanted by the law are not going to want to present identification to a financial provider to open an account. There are a lot of them out there. US Marshals arrest many tens of thousands of wanted fugitives every year.
