I seem to have dodged major tree damage with only a few limbs here and there, others in my area are not so lucky but nothing major that I am aware of except for power outages and the Hodag Dome collapsing in Rhinelander, Wi. Now we have this coming on Tuesday night. Tomorrow Night 04/01 87% / 3 in Watching a potential winter storm. Periods of snow. Low 28F. Winds ESE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 90%. Snow accumulating 3 to 5 inches. Blah yuck again.

I finally hired someone to cut our grass. Decided between age and allergies it was time. It’s been raining ever since. I assume when it stops growing it will stop raining. 🙄

I need to, but I’m stubborn and I’m cheap. It has always been my philosophy that if I can do it myself then I must. Right now I have three deer that appeared last night living in the “forest” that is my backyard.

The past few days has produced 3.87″ of rain. Yesterday, my weather station recorded a rain rate of 5.4″ / hour for a short period of time. That’s tropical rain rate.

Friday morning, I’ll be getting thunderstorms and another 0.5″ of rain. I’m giving up on mowing my grass till maybe Saturday. Or Sunday.

According to Drought.gov my area is officially no longer in a drought.

GeekGirl1 Here they say it is the 7th wettest year to date over the past 131 years (January-April 2025) Increase of 3.5 inches from normal. But the Trout river next to my house is at a pretty low level at the moment for some reason. I mowed most of the yard yesterday for the first time this year, in preparation of what was suppose to be a 1-2 inch rain today from storms. Maybe got a few tenths of rain because the storms stopped shy or went on either side of where my house is. My area had the last Tornado warning in Wisconsin this evening.

Guy54435 The back of my property has a small creek. It’s been nearly bone dry for the past several months and I got concerned about the low level. After I got my 3.5+" of rain a few days ago, it overflowed its banks and turned into a fast-flowing river. I haven’t seen that level since Hurricane Floyd, maybe Hurricane Sandy.

My home is far above the creek, so there’s no chance of my home getting flooded.

As for that thunderstorm I was supposed to be getting this morning, it disappeared off the forecast. So much for model accuracy.

The thunderstorm reappeared, as it’s part of a heavy squall line going through my area now. This is a severe thunderstorm which also triggered a flash flood warning. Impressive. I’ve got about 0.5″ rain so far with a peak rain rate of 3″ / hour.

The squall line will be through in less than an hour.
