I seem to have dodged major tree damage with only a few limbs here and there, others in my area are not so lucky but nothing major that I am aware of except for power outages and the Hodag Dome collapsing in Rhinelander, Wi. Now we have this coming on Tuesday night. Tomorrow Night 04/01 87% / 3 in Watching a potential winter storm. Periods of snow. Low 28F. Winds ESE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 90%. Snow accumulating 3 to 5 inches. Blah yuck again.

Yeah here too.

I think it’s been a while since we’re only supposed to get “regular” T-storms. Lately it seemed that every forecast was for “severe” thunderstorms.

OK, the NWS just made it official now - we did have an actual blizzard this winter:

Blizzard conditions have been preliminarily confirmed for Atlantic coastal New Jersey and Delaware during the early morning hours of February 23rd.

The counties confirmed include the following…

Inland Monmouth, NJ
Coastal Monmouth, NJ
Inland Ocean, NJ
Coastal Ocean, NJ
Southeastern Burlington, NJ
Inland Atlantic, NJ
Coastal Atlantic, NJ
Inland Cape May, NJ
Coastal Cape May, NJ

Inland Sussex, DE
Coastal Sussex, DE

Blizzard criteria are met when sustained winds or frequent gusts of 35 mph accompanied by falling and/or blowing snow frequently reduce visibility to less than ¼ mile for 3 or more hours during an event.

All verification data are considered preliminary until certified in NWS StormData. The exact start and end times of blizzard conditions in these areas will be documented in NWS StormData.
