I seem to have dodged major tree damage with only a few limbs here and there, others in my area are not so lucky but nothing major that I am aware of except for power outages and the Hodag Dome collapsing in Rhinelander, Wi. Now we have this coming on Tuesday night. Tomorrow Night 04/01 87% / 3 in Watching a potential winter storm. Periods of snow. Low 28F. Winds ESE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 90%. Snow accumulating 3 to 5 inches. Blah yuck again.

Summer 2026 is expected to bring a volatile mix of heat, severe thunderstorms and flooding to the United States, with El Niño developing and flexing its influence on the weather pattern.

Where will it be a hot summer?
A hot summer is predicted across most of the contiguous United States in 2026, with almost no areas expected to have temperatures below the historical average for the season. The widespread heat will drive up energy demand and could lead to higher electric bills.

The worst of the heat will focus across parts of California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming, fueling a widespread fire threat.

You know the weather is bad if the Weather Channel is broadcasting live after 10 PM ET on Weekdays or 2 PM ET on Weekends.

Bonus points if Jim Cantore is broadcasting live from the scene of bad weather. That means make sure your homeowners and flood insurance is up to date.

I miss the days when the Weather Channel was 24/7 weather information. They did the same “Jump the Shark” thing MTV did when they stopped playing Music Videos and started playing shows like Jacka** and 16 and pregnant.

We have had snow flurries off and on this past week here in North Central Wisconsin, it is a nice toasty 24° degrees and falling as of this posting.
