The Los Angeles mansion where actress Brittany Murphy died at the age of 32 has been put back on the market for the third time in a year—this time with $2 million slashed from its original asking price.
Murphy, who was best known for her roles in “Girl, Interrupted,” “Clueless,” and “Uptown Girls,” died inside the home in 2009, six years after she moved into the property. Five months later, her husband, Simon Monjack, also died there.
The actress’ cause of death was later revealed as a combination of pneumonia, anemia, and excessive use of prescription medications, while her husband’s passing was determined to have been caused by near-identical circumstances.
However, their deaths sparked a wave of conspiracy theories about the property, which was also once home to pop star Britney Spears, who had previously told friends that she fled the home after encountering what she described as “bad spirits,” an experience that left her so shaken, she refused to ever return.
