Received an email from Saleae a few days ago about their upcoming MSO USB scopes that raise the bar quite a bit beyond their earlier products .

At the top end, a 4 channel, 200 MHz, 12-bit scope costs a cool $2,999.00 before taxes S/H, and extra accessories. 😲
For comparison, a Rigol MSO5204 (200 MHz, 4 ch) is only $1,500 as per https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/rigol-technologies/MSO5204/17801275 , though the Rigol may be just an 8-bit scope.
Saleae’s current, official line-up is: https://www.saleae.com/products/saleae-logic-8 , so this new line of scopes with logic analyzer ups the ante in more than one respects, including price. 🙁
I have a 1st gen [USB 2.0] Logic 8 that I obtained many years ago when it was around $250 before discount.
A very noteworthy thing about these is how the logic analyzer probes are connected – instead of the usual connectors seen on other logic analyzers, scopes and their earlier products, they use USB C connectors!! Which I consider a very shrewd move for a number of reasons.
